Day 61

11/8/2016

A busy day in both classes as new material was introduced which can be both fun and not fun.
The AP Biology students had a discussion which involved these terms: Okazaki fragments, DNA ligase, origin of replication and replication bubble. Know what we were talking about? You do? Well, tell me then..... Oh, you don't know, do you. Well, we were talking about DNA replication, the process by which DNA makes a copy of itself.
The Chemistry students had a quiz today on balancing equations. They only had to do 5, so it went pretty quick. Then we began the annual march through what one student from a bygone era called, "the worst days of my high school career." Yes, I'm talking about Stoichiometry, that amazing mathematical approach to chemical reactions and predicting the mass of products formed in a particular reaction.
P.S. that student didn't know what he was talking about.
