Day 38

10/6/2016

Today was a great day.  Olivia, the world's greatest daughter, came in to speak to some students about the joys of college.  The West Valley students were great and came with a bunch of important questions for her. And, being the world's greatest daughter, Olivia was great too.
The AP Biology students conducted a pretty easy activity today where they separated out the 4 different plant pigments from spinach leaves. The results, generally, were good and Rf factors for xanthophyll were found to be accurate.  Yeah, I said that.
The Chemistry students began the task of cleaning that really dirty water sample. The student groups are constructing their own procedures and it is really interesting to see the variety of possible solutions to this problem.  Not that their solutions will produce a clean water sample, but we'll see.
