Day 37

10/5/2016

I have returned and just in time for the college week stuff which, as you no doubt know (weird sentence there), is something that I am into.
The AP Biology students go their first look at photosynthesis which is not, despite a popular misconception, the making of photographs.  It is a really cool biochemical pathway carried out by inferior beings, plants. The students also go a preview of the next lab in the AP Biology schedule, Plant Pigments and Photosynthesis.
The Chemistry students go some direct instruction regarding the ease of naming ions and ionic compounds. Figuring out their formulas, however, is also pretty easy.  We went over this stuff in detail.   We also talked about a fun lab activity we are starting on Thursday.  The students will be getting a sample of extremely dirty water and will be assigned the task of cleaning it up.
