Day 27

9/21/2016

Is this year going by fast or what? It sure seems like it. Maybe because we're learning so much.
The AP Biology students did several things today. We had a quick review of the phases of mitosis. We discussed meiosis or, as it is known in Botswana, reduction division. Gametes were intelligently discussed which doesn't happen that often in high school. A general announcement was also made: "The Mitosis and Meiosis Lab is due Friday!"
The Chemistry students began the annual track through the wonder of the Periodic Table. The students received data on 31 elements. They (the students) will endeavor to arrange their own periodic table based on the characteristics of these 31 elements. Then, they will try to fit in a 'missing element' onto their table to reveal its characteristics.  A cash price to the team that has the closest answer!
