Short week with Labor Day and all. What did you do on Labor Day? I did, ah, I can't really remember right now. Pretty much nothing I think. I did take a nap. I know that.
The AP Biology students discussed both lipids and nucleic acids. It was interesting. It was! Triglycerides, steroids, cholesterol, RNA, phospholipids and DNA. Man, that's some good stuff. That puts the wrap on Chapter 5 which means we're done with Chapter 5. The first exam of the year, which covers Chapters 1-5 and the Diffusion and Osmosis Lab, is happening on Friday!
The Chemistry students did things today that, hopefully, aided students in their preparation for the first exam of the year which is also happening on Friday. We looked over the 15 Learning Objectives that comprise this unit of study. We talked about the structures of solids, liquids and gases. We discussed theories and hypotheses. We even looked at a practice exam that covers the objectives for this unit. We will continue our preparation tomorrow.
