Today is the first day of Finals. I personally do not have classes today but my seniors in Chemistry are coming in for their Final Exam. So I'm expecting Pim, Sydney, Madison, Alyssa, Gabe, Hannah and Isaiah to show up for it. And as soon as they do and get the heck out of my class, I'm splittin'.
Today is the last official day of school, not including final exams.
The AP Biology students partied it up with quesadillas and cupcakes, which were great.
The Chemistry students reviewed the Food Chemistry stuff in preparation for the Final Exam which is on Thursday, the last day of school, super officially!
Day on the Green 2017!! What a joke.....
Day on the Green used to be a real minimum day - that means school out at noon and fun stuff until 2:30. Basketball tournament, volleyball, slip and slide...it was awesome. You're getting ripped off!!! Rise up and do something about it!!
Both the AP Biology students (who turned in their Final Project - well, most did anyway) and the Chemistry students chilled and checked out the yearbook. And I began the story of Emily Chadwick.
Today is my daughter's birthday, one of the greatest days of my life. Of course, if my daughter wasn't so awesome, maybe it wouldn't be. But she is, so it is. Get it?
The AP Biology students, hopefully, put the finishing touches on their Final Projects. Remember it's due tomorrow!!
The Chemistry students continued the Final Exam review. The Final Exam is one week from today. Wow, this year went super quick.
Day 175!! That means the school year is 35/36ths of the way done. Only 1/36th left. That means 5 days!
The AP Biology students continued the Final Project work. You know, after the AP Biology Exam, it's pretty chill around here and it should be.
The Chemistry students began the infamous Final Exam review today. We looked at every exam they have taken during the second semester. That covers acids and bases, the gas laws, nuclear chemistry and organic chemistry. It's a lot of stuff. We will continue the review tomorrow.
Only one more Tuesday to go! Only 1/30th of the school year remains!
The AP Biology students worked on the illustrations for the Final Project and just kinda chilled in class. This is the glory of AP. Work like crazy until the second Monday in May and then coast in. It's awesome.
The Chemistry students spent the period talking about amino acids, proteins and, yes, condensation reactions. We're pretty much done now. All that remains is Final Exam review.
This is the last Monday of the 2016-17 school year. Oh boy!
The AP Biology students spent the last day of library usage working on their Final Projects which are due this Friday which is the last Friday of the school year. Yay!! I remember Days on the Green here at West Valley....we need those back.
The Chemistry students reviewed carbohydrates and condensation reactions. Then we talked about fats and how to tell if they are saturated or not and condensation reactions. We then saw surgery on a peanut butter cup. I'm not kidding.
Only one more Friday to go and that Friday will be super chill.
The AP Biology students didn't do much because the Career Fair was happening and during 4th period both the junior and senior class checked it out although the senior just stayed here because they pretty much have their post-secondary plans completed.
The Chemistry students found out why a fast food diet is not the best thing in the world for you. They analyzed their favorite fast food meal. Mine is the King Arthur Supreme from Round Table. I have always liked it and I especially like it now that KFC in nowhere to be found.
Single digit day! That means there are only 9 (10 if you count today) days left before summer.
The AP Biology students spent one of the last times in the library working on their Final Project which is due on Friday, May 26th.
The Chemistry students talked about carbohydrates and their role in living systems. We also saw a little bit of Food Inc. as well. We're gonna start prepping for the Final Exam any day now.
Day 170 already!! Only 1/18th of the school year remains and that means 10 more days!!
The AP Biology students continued their work on their Final Project today. We went to the library (that book place) and did a bunch of research on muscle contraction, emerging viruses and sexual reproduction. You know, the usual stuff.
The Chemistry students discussed carbohydrates and their structure while eating asparagus. You know, the usual stuff. I prepared asparagus and rice with a wonderful spicy soy reduction. Tyler, who hated asparagus, now loves it.
