Day 55

11/2/2015

The week begins with knowing that a bunch of days off lie ahead.
The AP Biology students got to see fruit flies for the first time today.  They (the students) will discover a lot about fruit flies in the coming days and, maybe, they'll just learn a little about themselves, too.  Hahahahaha. What a bunch of crap!
The Biology students got see actually see their own DNA today.  They first gathered samples of the cheek cells by gargling with Gatorade. Then, we broke down the cell membranes and nuclear membranes by a chemical treatment to expose the DNA. We then precipitated the DNA out of solution and surprise....DNA.
The Chemistry students finished the review for the Unit 3 Exam which is tomorrow!!!
