The AP Biology students began the Diffusion and Osmosis Lab today. We did some initial work with dialysis tubing that enabled the students to see the diffusion of potassium iodide. We will continue with the rest of the lab tomorrow and the next day and the day after that and probably the day after that.
The Chemistry students finished up the Scientific Inquiry Lab and, while doing so, learned a lot about me like that my kids went to Cal and are totally awesome and that I have been at West Valley for like a million years. We also saw some high explosives explode in class which doesn't happen that often in a normal high school. Nitrogen triiodide. Cool stuff.
The Biology students finished up the Scientific Inquiry Lab and, while doing so, learned a lot about me like that my wife is a 3rd grade teacher and a yoga instructor and that my brother is the Executive Chef at AT&T Park.
Both chemistry and biology students got a special assignment: Name everyone at the top of this page.
