Day 19

9/11/2015

Another Friday and, boy, do I have a lot to do this weekend. I have to drive to the Cal game in Berkeley on Saturday, go to a tailgate party when I get there and then watch NFL games on Sunday.  I think I'll be up to it.
The AP Biology students discussed the cell and why a giant ant isn't roaming around West Valley High School, looking for sugar or humans. There is a biological explanation for this. It has to do with cell surface area versus cell volume and the all too important ratio of said parameters.
The Biology students discussed the nature of water, specifically, the polarity of the water molecule. They also did a quick activity on the pH of 3 different solutions.
The Chemistry students spent the period reviewing the material that will be on the first exam which is scheduled for Monday, September 14th.
