The first Collaboration Day of the Year! Yayy!
The AP Biology students discussed college, as we are want to do, during class today. Every Collaboration Day is spent on college stuff like applications, how much it costs; you know, stuff like that. Today, we touched on what students of different grade levels should be doing know to prepare for the whole college thing.
The Biology students, because they spent time yesterday discussing college, began the Microscope Lab. We looked at different human tissue samples (blood, intestine and veins) in order to practice using the microscope as a tool of investigation. We will continue this lab throughout this week.
The Chemistry students, because they spent time yesterday discussing college, had their first look at the Periodic Table. Remember, it is a HUGE waste of time to try to memorize anything on the Periodic Table. Of course, that would change if the person or persons that controls all the Periodic Tables in the world suddenly announced, "Attention Everyone! All Periodic Tables will be destroyed on Friday. You better do something about it!" Then you should try to memorize it. Short of that, don't memorize it. It ain't going anywhere.
