The Chemistry students got their first look at Covalent Bonding and Lewis Dot structures. Ah, Gilbert Lewis, the man who was nominated for the Nobel Prize 35 times. Yes, I said 35 times! Some say he died of a broken heart. Others say he died of cyanide gas poisoning in his lab at UC Berkeley. The students did a bunch of examples and, I think, found that constructing Lewis Dot diagrams of elements and compounds.
The AP Biology students continued their work in Genetics by checking out the new nomenclature of fruit fly genetics. And by the way, the fruit flies are on their way from North Carolina!
