The Chemistry students finished their review of the Unit 2 Learning Objectives. The second exam of the year is tomorrow and, boy, are the students excited. They can hardly wait to explain Rutherford's conclusions or identify isotopes with reckless abandon.
The AP Biology students completed the data gathering section of the Photosynthesis Lab. We measured how fast photosynthesis occurred by adding DPIP, a blue liquid and oxidizing agent, to a mixture of chloroplasts. Once reduced, the DPIP turns from blue to clear. We measured the increasing transmittance of light within the mixture by placing a sample within our spectrophotometer. Wow, that sounds smart. And make no mistake; it is.
